Buffs land another recruit
Posted September 21, 2008
Colorado's win over West Virginia last week impressed defensive tackle Nosa Eguae, a recruit from Mansfield Summit High School in Arlington, Texas.
Eguae, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound prospect, committed to join the Colorado program shortly after the game ended. He had visited CU unofficially early in training camp last month.
"Even before the game I thought that was probably were I wanted to be," Eguae told Rivals.com "I just wanted to see the game atmosphere just to see how it was. Just to be up there in the student section and see the fans, they were some of the best fans I have ever seen. They were fired up about CU football. I was excited about the way the team went out there and played, just everything about it. I felt like CU was the place for me."
Eguae said he still plans to take other officials visits this fall. Minnesota, Iowa State and Nebraska are among the other schools recruiting him. Eguae said he had a feeling the Buffs would do well against West Virginia and he was not surprised by the outcome.
"I wasn't surprised at all," Eguae told Scout.com. "When I talked to the coaches, I could tell that they were ready. It's not just about football. They want to be the best at everything; athletics, academics, everything and Coach Hawk leads that. So no it wasn't a surprise at all."
He is the fourth recruit to give CU coaches his oral pledge to join the 2009 recruiting class. He is the second player from Texas, joining wide receiver Jarrod Darden. Quarterbacks Clark Evans and Jordan Wynn, both from Southern California, have also committed to CU.

I was excited to hear about the recruit until I saw who else is going after him -- Iowa St., Minnesota, Nebraska.
If this kid were a dominant D-Line force, he'd be getting recruited by Texas schools.

BuffNut, that was a stupid statement.
Who knows? This kid could become the next great defensive lineman.
Don't go judging him by who's recruited him, judge him by what he does for the Buffs the next five years.
Nosa, welcome to CU - work hard, keep yourself out of trouble, and great things will come to you. Good luck!

Couldn't agree more hinfinitl. No one recruiting Speedy is just one example of the undiscovered talent that Hawkins finds and in fact has to find until we are seen as a consistent power in football and can draw the whales by default. Nosa will be another in a line of great recruits that get us there. Welcome Nosa.
This kid looks like a man among boys in his highlight video. http://rivals100.rivals.com/viewprosp.... Will probably need some more lbs at this level but his speed looks awesome.
Go Buffs!

Hawkins has always stated that he looked for players that fit into certain intangibles. And speedy is a great example. It’s still too early in the recruiting process and too far from letter of intent day to be making any foolish statements.
