Following a monster game last week in a victory against Long Beach State, Stanford senior Josh Sharma on Monday was named the Pac-12 Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week.

A 7-foot center from Lexington, Mass., Sharma posted the first double-double of his career by recording career-highs with 23 points and 18 rebounds. Sharma did his damage in 28 minutes off the bench and went 10-for-15 from the field in the Cardinal’s 93-86 win. Sharma’s previous career-best totals were 15 points and nine rebounds.

Sharma’s honor ended a run of four times in five weeks the Pac-12’s weekly honor went to an Arizona State player. Sharma is the second Stanford player to win the award this season, as teammate KZ Okpala won the season’s first Player of the Week honor on Nov. 12.

Stanford opens Pac-12 play Thursday night at UCLA in the first game for interim Bruins coach Murry Bartow (9 p.m. MT, ESPN).
