A warrant has been issued for a University of Colorado football player who did not show up to a hearing in a drunken-driving case.

Markques Simas was arrested Feb. 12 after being pulled over when police noticed him making a U-turn without using a turn signal near 15th Street and University Avenue at 2:20 a.m. A roadside test showed Simas had a breath alcohol concentration of 0.135. The legal limit in Colorado is 0.08.

Simas pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence at a March 29 hearing. But according to court records, he did not show up to a hearing in the case on May 12. An arrest warrant for failure to appear was issued on May 17.

Simas was suspended after his arrest for violating team rules. He was reinstated in March.
