Skid reaches 14 for Buffalo spikers

AMES, Iowa — The slide continues for the University of Colorado volleyball team.

The Buffs fell to the Iowa State Cyclones 30-23, 30-17, 30-20 at Hilton Coliseum. The loss was the 14th in a row for the Buffs (5-17, 0-14 Big 12 Conference), all of which have come in league play.

CU hit just .167 on the night with 36 kills and 18 errors on 108 attacks.

Alex Buth led the Buffs with 11 kills on .375 hitting, and Emilee Sisco added 10 kills. Setter Kaitlyn Burkett dished out 27 assists, and Callie Webster had 10 digs.

Iowa State outdid the Buffs in most major categories, hitting .358, outblocking CU 10.5-4 and recording 50 digs to Colorado's 31.

The Cyclones, fifth in the Big 12, improved to 14-9 overall and 8-5 in league play.

CU returns home on Saturday to host Texas Tech and will try to avenge a five-game loss earlier this season in Lubbock. Game time is set for noon at the Coors Events Center.

Come on Buffs! Keep your heads up! This is a great program with a great history. Look at the rest of the season as a tune up for next year. Maybe at some point all the football fans will become true Buff fans and start coming out to support!
