A preliminary hearing for a former University of Colorado football player in jail for allegedly stealing $500 in a home-invasion-style robbery on University Hill was pushed this afternoon until August.
Bernard Jackson, a former starting quarterback for the Buffs, is facing multiple felony counts for his alleged role in a June 5 armed robbery at an apartment in the 1000 block of University Avenue.
Prosecutors also have charged Lionel Harris, another former CU football player, as a co-defendant in the crime.
The men, both 23, remain in Boulder County Jail on $250,000 bond. They were arrested June 21.
Senior Judge Irving Ettenberg agreed this afternoon to schedule Harris' and Jackson's preliminary hearings on Aug. 11. The hearings will be held separately that day.
Harris' request earlier this month to have his bond reduced was denied by the court. Jackson has not made a similar bond-reduction request.
