Forward Kristin Andrighetto scored 1 minute, 46 seconds into the game to put the Tigers (7-3-0, 2-1-0 Big 12) on top for good.
Colorado goalie Kirstin Radlinski kept the Buffs (8-2-2, 2-1-1) in the game by thwarting a couple of solid subsequent scoring threats by the Tigers -- including a penalty kick attempt by Andrighetto in the 63rd minute.
But the Buffs mustered just four shots on goal for the match after scoring 10 goals in their last three games.
Nikki Marshall notched two of the shots on goal, while Radlinski made five saves.
CU travels to Lawrence, Kan., to face the Kansas Jayhawks at noon Sunday.
