Tolan, Childs sweep Big 12 honors
IRVING, Texas -- Colorado senior Derek Tolan and CU freshman Emily Childs were named Big 12 Golfers of the Month for September.

It is the first such honor for both in their careers.
Tolan is the third Buff to win the award, joining former CU golfers Michael Baird (February 2007) and Kane Webber (November 2003), while Childs joins teammate Dominique Pytlewski (October 2007) and former Buff Hannah Hoch (February 2005) to earn the monthly honor.
Tolan led the Buffs in all three tournaments during September, finishing with the best opening individual month in school history. Tolan was the co-medalist at the USF Olympic Club Intercollegiate and the UNM Tucker Invitational, and was the runner-up in the Ron Moore. He he was the only player in the nation to win two tournaments during the first month of competition.
Childs leads her team with a 70.89 average after producing two runner-up finishes and a seventh place in the first three tournaments of her career. In her collegiate debut at the CSU Ram Fall Classic, her three-round total of 209 set the school record for the lowest 54-hole score.
