CU Men's basketball team opens Nov. 14
The Colorado men's basketball team opens up the season on Nov. 14 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
But the more important date for Jeff Bzdelik and his staff -- at least when looking at the long-term success of the program -- will be Nov. 12 when the early signing period begins.
The Buffs, who will have four scholarships available for the 2009 class, have already received two verbal commitments.
The latest propsect headed for Boulder is Alec Burks, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Grandview, Mo., who has chosen CU over rival Kansas State, according to Scout.com.
On Tuesday night, Los Angeles guard/forward Keegan Hornbuckle announced his plans to play for Bzdelik.
With CU hosting Texas on Oct. 4, next weekend will be an important recruiting opportunity for Bzdelik's program in terms of hosting potential student-athletes for their official visits to Boulder.

Yep, we've got a team. And it's getting better all the time.

Yeah we do! It looks like it will be a pretty good one before much longer!
Coach Bz is still a little new to how we do things here at CU: he doesn't have his own son playing point guard!

I can't wait to see Crawford play; he looks like he will be great.

This will be the best shooting team we've had for a long, long time. It'll be interesting to see if Dwight Thorne and Levi Knutson live up to the promise of their shooting strokes.
