The unbeaten Colorado soccer team leaves the state for the first time this season with matches this weekend at Marquette and Michigan State. A look at the Buffaloes’ Thursday night showdown at Marquette.

Colorado soccer at Marquette

Kickoff: Thursday, 6 p.m. MDT, Valley Fields, Milwaukee, Wisc.

Records: Colorado 4-0-1; Marquette 0-4-1.

Leaders: Colorado Goals: F Tatum Barton, Jr., 6; Assists: MF Taylor Kornieck, Jr., 6; Goalies: JJ Tompkins, Jr., 0.37 goals-against average, .917 save percentage; Scout Watson, Sr., 0.00 goals-against average, 1.000 save percentage. MarquetteGoals: F Carrie Madden, Sr., 2; Assists: D Maddie Monticello, So., 2; Goalie: Maddy Henry, Jr., 2.14 goals-against average, .711 save percentage.

Notes: CU debuted in one of the national top 25 polls this week, checking in at No. 23 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com poll…Barton has played only 27 games at CU, leaving her just short of the 30 required to be eligible for the program’s list of all-time leaders in goals per game, but her mark of .444 would trail only all-time leader Nikki Marshall (.490) at the top of that list…With two goals and six assists, Kornieck needs one more point to move into a tie for sixth all-time in points at CU. She currently is in a four-way tie for fifth in career assists (14)…The Buffs have never played Marquette…Madden’s two goals are the only tallies by the winless Warriors this season. She scored both during a 3-2 loss at Michigan on Aug. 23. Marquette is coming off road losses against national powers Duke and North Carolina…The Buffs’ road trip concludes Sunday morning at Michigan State.
