Bio: A University of Colorado graduate and occasional Californian, Matt spent his early years at the Camera as a news reporter, covering a variety of beats, including police, courts, Boulder city government, the University of Colorado, Louisville and Superior, before making the jump to the paper's features department, where he quickly discovered that getting paid to attend rock concerts was a lot more fun than covering the JonBenet Ramsey case or sitting through Boulder City Council meetings.
In 2005, after two ear-pounding years as the paper's music critic, Matt was named editor of dirt, the Camera's now-defunct youth-oriented news and entertainment publication. In addition to those duties, he was the Camera's entertainment editor from January 2006 to March 2007.
In April 2007, Matt became one of the Camera's two city editors.
In July 2008, Matt was named editor of the Camera's sister paper, the Colorado Daily.
Previously, Matt worked as a news reporter at the Standard-Examiner in Ogden, Utah, and the Contra Costa Times in the San Francisco Bay Area.
