Colorado added some muscle to the trenches on Thursday.

Edgar Amaya, an offensive lineman from Russellville (Ala.) High School, announced his verbal commitment to the Buffaloes for the class of 2021.

Amaya, who is 6-foot-4, 315 pounds, has a three-star rating from 247Sports.com and Rivals.com. He committed to Kansas in May, but opened his recruitment a month ago.

CU coaches have talked to Amaya about playing guard. He started this season at guard, but is currently playing tackle at Russellville and he has also trained a bit at center – which is a position he was aiming to play at Kansas.

According to 247Sports, Amaya has 15 scholarship offers, including from Air Force, Illinois and Navy.

Amaya is one of 18 players committed to the Buffs for the 2021 class, including the second offensive lineman. The Buffs also have a commitment from 6-4, 290-pound Jackson Anderson of Mineola, Tex.

Amaya said he is considering enrolling at CU in January.
